What Size Bandage Do You Need?

Before you apply a bandage, clean the cut and let the skin around it dry. Then size for the pad, not the strip. The pad should cover the whole cut with clean, dry skin showing on every side, so the adhesive grips healthy skin instead of the wound.

Standard ¾ × 3 in1.9 × 7.6 cm Every 36-count pouch (all 36) and the All Mixed Up box (50 per box) Most minor cuts and scrapes
Large 1 × 3 in2.5 × 7.6 cm All Mixed Up box (20 per box) Cuts that need a wider pad

Knuckles, fingertips, and wide road rash need different shapes, not just a bigger strip. The full breakdown lives in Bandage Sizes Explained.

Why Fabric, and Why This Shape?

A flexible fabric bandage is an adhesive bandage made from woven cloth instead of a plastic film strip. Cloth bends when a knuckle or knee bends, then springs back, so the edges hold on instead of peeling up. We put the two head-to-head in Fabric Bandages vs. Plastic.

Fabric that stretches

Durable, latex-free flexible fabric stretches with every move and breathes through a sweaty day.

Adhesive that hangs on

A lab-tested double hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive. In plain words, it sticks through sports, sweat, dirt, and skateboard fails.

A seal on all four sides

The adhesive surrounds the non-stick absorbent pad on every edge, which helps shield minor cuts and scrapes from dirt and debris.

The surfboard shape

The silhouette comes straight from skateboards and surfboards. It runs wider in the center for more coverage right where the cut is.

Who Draws These?

Definitely not a corporate boardroom. The original prints come straight from student designers at Otis Design Lab at Otis College of Art and Design, a Los Angeles design studio where students work with outside clients.

When co-founders John and Jeff scanned the first aid aisle, they saw plenty of boring beige and babyish prints, but zero options for teens and tweens taking real hits. Instead of hiring a traditional agency, they partnered with Otis Design Lab to turn flexible fabric bandages into a canvas for authentic self-expression. Read the full story.

Bold art for the body, real support for the mind. We’re proud to support The Jed Foundation in protecting emotional health and preventing suicide for teens and young adults.

Questions Before You Stock Up

Are World of Hurt bandages latex-free?

Yes. They are latex-free and not made with natural rubber latex. Shopping for sensitive skin? Our guide to Bandages for Sensitive Skin covers what to look for.

Are these bandages waterproof?

No. Our flexible fabric bandages are built to breathe, handle sweat, and stretch. Just not synchronized swimming. The resealable pouch is water-resistant, so the bandages inside stay clean and dry in a soaked backpack. Thinking about a pool day with a cut? Read Can You Swim with a Cut first.

How often should I change my bandage?

Change bandages daily or any time one gets wet. If one sticks on the way off, pull it low and slow instead of ripping it. Here's How to Get a Stuck Bandage Off without wrecking the scab.

Are the bandages sterile?

Yes. Each bandage is sterile unless its individual wrapper is opened or damaged.

What is the difference between a 36-count pouch and the 100-count box?

Every 36-count pouch holds 36 standard-size flexible fabric adhesive bandages (¾ × 3 in) in 9 styles. The All Mixed Up 100-count box holds 20 styles across three sizes: 30 Small, 50 Standard, and 20 Large.

Are these for kids, teens, or adults?

The designs were made for teens and tweens who go hard, but they're for anyone, including adults, who is completely over beige or babyish bandages. For younger kids who need small sizes for little fingers, the All Mixed Up box includes Small.
